Ayurveda is a traditional system of medicine that originated in India around the 2nd century BCE. It treats illness by diagnosing an individual's dosha (constitutional balance of Vata, Pitta and Kapha) and restoring balance through herbal medicine, oil therapies, diet and lifestyle change, rather than treating isolated symptoms.
Our most common cases are digestive and metabolic issues (acidity, IBS, fatty liver, diabetes support), musculoskeletal pain (arthritis, chronic back pain), stress and sleep disorders, and skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. We also run condition-specific programs for cancer support, autoimmune disorders and post-trauma rehabilitation — see our full program list.
Panchakarma is Ayurveda's classical five-action detoxification protocol, used to remove accumulated toxins and reset digestive function. A complete Panchakarma program at Tigris Valley typically runs 14–21 days, though shorter introductory protocols of 7 days are available for first-time guests.
Yes, when done under trained practitioners.
Most guests at Tigris Valley book 7, 14 or 21-day programs. Shorter stays (3–5 days) are available for rejuvenation and stress relief without a clinical condition, while complex chronic conditions are generally recommended a minimum of 14 days for measurable results.
Abhyanga is a full-body Ayurvedic oil massage using warm herbal oil selected for the individual's dosha. It is typically performed by two therapists working in synchronized strokes and is used both as a standalone relaxation therapy and as a preparatory step before deeper Panchakarma procedures.
