How We Practise Hijama Cupping Therapy

Every hijama cupping therapy session at Tigris Valley is carried out under the direct supervision of qualified AYUSH-registered doctors. We do not offer cupping as a standalone spa service. It is a medically supervised therapeutic procedure, performed with the same standards of hygiene, safety, and clinical oversight that govern all treatments at our centre.
Types of Hijama Offered

The classical prophetic method. Small suction cups are placed on specific therapeutic points on the body. Superficial incisions are made, and the cups draw out stagnant or impure blood. This is the most therapeutically potent form of Hijama and is performed strictly by our qualified doctors. Sessions are offered on the Sunnah-recommended lunar calendar days (17th, 19th, and 21st of the Islamic month) for guests who wish to observe this tradition.

Suction cups are applied without incisions. This method stimulates circulation, releases deep muscle tension, improves lymphatic drainage, and is well-suited for guests new to cupping therapy or those with conditions where wet cupping is not yet indicated. It is also used as a preparatory or follow-up step alongside wet cupping sessions.

Cups are moved across the body in a gliding technique to mobilise the fascia, release chronic muscular tension, and enhance blood and lymphatic flow across a broader area. Particularly effective for back pain, shoulder stiffness, and post-exertion recovery.
